Tea Cozy Cross Stitch, Three for Tea, Pretty in Pink

Have you read Laura Child's Tea Shoppe Mystery books? They are fun to read. I've read "Death by Darjeeling" and "Shades of Earl Gray". This little tea cozy kit uses pretty pinks of Weeks Dye Works Flosses and pink Jobelan fabric.



"Time for Tea" has lots of little teapots with dainty flowers in shades of periwinkle and lavender. These tea cozy kits are small and fit a small teapot with tea enough for one.



"Teapots in Blue" with many shades of blue and pink flowers dancing about. This tea cozy kit fits a medium teapot for when you are having tea with a friend. Today is a great day for tea and a cozy mystery. We had snow last night and it is very cold today, my newly planted flowers are a little droopy today.

Love the tea cozies! I'm now reading The Teaberry Strangler and love it!! I think it's so sweet the main character's dog is named Earl Grey! :)

I am very excited that I finished my "Touching the Autumn Sky" Mirabilia cross stitch pattern over the weekend. Whew, took a long time. I can't even remember when I started it. I'm looking for just the right frame now. I have completed two of Mirabilia's patterns in my cross stitching career, the other one is "Under the Friendship Tree". I really like her patterns of children. I have started the letter "C" of her letters series, however I am using Weeks Dye Works flosses instead of Crescent Colors. Illustration Friday - Juggle

I wanted to draw something to correlate with the season and I thought about a lady trying to juggle all of her equipment back so she doesn't have to make another trip, ever feel that way? I felt like using red too, such a strong color and not in my usual palette, so apples came to mind. Have a good weekend. Nice and cool here in Nevada.

Rise and Shine Hand Embroidery Pillow

This week I finished my "Rise and Shine" embroidery pattern that has a very bright theme, some orange butterflies and a few wildflowers.  I'm making a set with "Sweet Dreams" to go with it.    After finishing the pillow i wanted to do the crochet border around the edge.  I found a great pattern for it on the You Go Girl blog.  I've seen it on so many pillowcases lately and it turns out really cute!  First I did a blanket stitch around the edge.   I hemmed the edge of the pillow fabric first and used a large needle with "Comfy" fingering yarn from Knit Picks  in Sea Foam.  It is a little heavier than crochet cotton and I liked the softness of it.    Single crochet in the blanket stitch around.  I made a change here from her directions.  I only put two single crochet stitches in each blanket stitch because it was starting to ruffle a bit and I didn't want that.
