Valentine Daisy Hearts Table Runner

 
This week I worked on a Valentine project and loved it.  Valentine's Day is a favorite holiday of mine.  And I really like pink. 

 
I had to have some pink wrapped candy for the photo, which is a bonus.   

 
In this project I dug into my box of scrap fabrics and used up some I've had for years, which made me happy so I can buy some more.  I've been saving the robin egg blue rose floral for a long time and this was the right project for it.   

 
It was incredibly challenging for me to get a photo of the full runner.  I wanted to show the patchwork pattern and the embroidery on each end so I took an above "ceiling" view standing on a chair :)  You can find the pattern in my Etsy Shoppe

Your table runner is lovely. I wish I had the time to make one before Valentine's day. I have very few decorations for this holiday but have been trying to add to what I have each year. The blue fabric is perfect for this project.

I just love it! The fabrics are very special and they all go together so nicely. I just happen to be in the midst of gathering things/projects for Valentine's Day... I will have to give this one a try, it's very pretty.

I am very excited that I finished my "Touching the Autumn Sky" Mirabilia cross stitch pattern over the weekend. Whew, took a long time. I can't even remember when I started it. I'm looking for just the right frame now. I have completed two of Mirabilia's patterns in my cross stitching career, the other one is "Under the Friendship Tree". I really like her patterns of children. I have started the letter "C" of her letters series, however I am using Weeks Dye Works flosses instead of Crescent Colors. Rise and Shine Hand Embroidery Pillow

This week I finished my "Rise and Shine" embroidery pattern that has a very bright theme, some orange butterflies and a few wildflowers.  I'm making a set with "Sweet Dreams" to go with it.    After finishing the pillow i wanted to do the crochet border around the edge.  I found a great pattern for it on the You Go Girl blog.  I've seen it on so many pillowcases lately and it turns out really cute!  First I did a blanket stitch around the edge.   I hemmed the edge of the pillow fabric first and used a large needle with "Comfy" fingering yarn from Knit Picks  in Sea Foam.  It is a little heavier than crochet cotton and I liked the softness of it.    Single crochet in the blanket stitch around.  I made a change here from her directions.  I only put two single crochet stitches in each blanket stitch because it was starting to ruffle a bit and I didn't want that. Illustration Friday - Juggle

I wanted to draw something to correlate with the season and I thought about a lady trying to juggle all of her equipment back so she doesn't have to make another trip, ever feel that way? I felt like using red too, such a strong color and not in my usual palette, so apples came to mind. Have a good weekend. Nice and cool here in Nevada.
