Country Garden Stitchery

My new hand embroidery book is now available!  It has over 50 patterns, most of which are border patterns for towels, pillowcases and totes.  You can find it in my Etsy shop and here in  my Artfire shop. Inspired by French Provencal indigo blue and sunshine yellow fabrics  Yellow Pansies and Checks fabric inspired by the abundant yellow viola flowers I had in the garden this year. Provence Blue Floral is a nice  accent fabric with several shades of blue. Provence Yellow Floral is a nice sunshine yellow fabric. Provence Stripe is a hand painted watercolor stripe.

Butterflies fabric collection ~ new in my Spoonflower shop.  Butterflies fabric painted in bright watercolors.  I have several fabrics that coordinate with this one.    A nice Aqua Teal off set plaid inspired by the overshot weaving patterns used in coverlets.    A companion geometric pattern Aqua Check fabric.  Nice for kitchen decor.   Avocado White Check is one of my favorites in the geometric series.  I love the shade of green.  And a Stripe fabric.   This is a actually horizontal stripe  :)

My August poppies pattern is now available in my shops.  You can find the links in the column to the right. The pattern comes with directions to put a fabric border on a flour sack towel.  A quick and easy project that makes a nice gift for someone with a birthday in August!

New!  A set of my Spoonflower fabrics with an autumn color theme. Blue Bubbles painted in watercolor.  I love how this printed. Royal Blue Butterflies drawn in pen and ink with watercolor. Autumn Leaves for the fall season with less defined leaves and an orange spatter background.  A nice large floating leaf pattern.  Burgundy Fall Leaves for autumn with an orange spatter/speckle design background.

  I was inspired by one of my paintings to make an embroidery pattern for a flour sack towel.  I used three different shades of purple from The Gentle Art and finished it with a border using some leafy Kathy Davis fabric.     This is a painting of the lavender growing in my garden as it was a few weeks ago.  It's nearly finished blooming now.
