April, After the Hunt and Flopsy's Egg Cross Stitch

In the mood for colorful spring stitching. These are some of my collection of cross stitch patterns for spring and Easter. Country Garden in April was stitched with Gentle Art Sampler Flosses and has little butterflies flying around the flowers. I used to love Easter egg hunts and loved watching my children hunt for eggs, especially when they were really little. So cute. This pattern was stitched with Weeks Dye Works flosses. One spring a tiny baby jack rabbit came into our yard and the kids rescued it before the cats could do their damage. He was so tiny and unafraid and let us hold him. This little Easter pattern uses Gentle Art Sampler flosses and JABC buttons - the button in the middle is a cute little chicken. Hope you have a lovely weekend.

Lollipops, Love and Sophie's Strawberries Silk

My newest embroidery design for a sweet treats collection soon to be in my Etsy store. These are very fun to embroider with hand dyed flosses in soft spring colors. This was stitched with Weeks Dye Works flosses. It will be in a collection with a cupcake and a dish of truffles. Working on some small cross stitch designs of flowers worked in all one color. Useful for using left overs and flosses from the stash. This little one was stitched using hand dyed silk called Sophie's Strawberries. I love the name. I have three in the set and all will be stitched with silk flosses. These will debut at the online needlework show in April. My husband and I went to dinner and a movie for our anniversary. While we were waiting for our reservation time we went to the bookstore and browsed. Usually I am a murder and mayhem suspense reader, but for some reason I had to have this book of love stories. It is a beautiful little book filled with love stories by classic authors and

Happy Anniversary and Valentine's Day

My husband gave me these lovely flowers for Valentine's day and our anniversary. I was very touched. I love the white daisies. Hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day.

Owl Moon and More Patchwork Table Mats

I've been wanting to design an owl for a while now but couldn't picture what I wanted until I sketched this one and I've decided to call him Winston. He makes me happy. He is chubby and has great big wise eyes. I decided to use Gentle Art flosses on him as they have an earthy look to some of their colors. Playing with more color I put some more table mats together using some spring fabric scraps from my collection. Some of them I get really attached to I like them so much and don't want to use them so I either just don't use them for a long, long time or just use small bits. I have a colorful cardboard container I keep small snips in and it is fun just to have on display. This mat used some of the small squares I bought on my last quilt shop shopping trip. Matches my teacup. On a different about those Saints! Very happy for them and New Orleans. Nice to see things getting good again for New Orleans. Hope you have a good week.

Red Pansy Swirl Cross Stitch Pattern

I've finished and released this design is finished for spring and for the Nashville Needlework Show. Makes me excited for spring! This design uses just DMC flosses on 28 ct. Bo Peep Pink Laguna fabric - I love that name, Bo Peep Pink.
